Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan reveals best year of his football career

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan believes 2010 is the best year of his football career.

Gyan, Ghana’s record top scorer with 51 goals, was in Yaoundé, Cameroon for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations draw after receiving an invite from Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Speaking after the draw, the former Udinese and Sunderland forward indicated 2010 is the best year of his career considering the achievement he made at the time.

“I think my best memory was in Angola, I personally had a great tournament, it was my best year in my career so I remember Angola very well” he said.

He played an instrumental role in Angola where Ghana reached the final of the AFCON but unfortunately lost the covetous trophy to the Pharaohs of Egypt 1-0 after extra time.

The Ghanaian legend was adjudged as the BBC African Footballer of the Year in 2010 after his swashbuckling performance.
