Ghana star Thomas Partey present customized jersey to Arsenal fan Gabby Otchere Darko
Ghana international Thomas Partey has presented a customized Arsenal jersey to club staunch fan Gabby Otchere Darko ahead of Black Stars game against Nigeria in World Cup play-off.
The midfielder presented the jersey to the Ghanaian politician at his office upon his arrival for the epic clash.
Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party could not hide his excitement after receiving the jersey from the Ghanaian midfielder.
He took to social media to announce receiving the gift from Partey on Monday.
“His name is Thomas Partey and he’s arrived and ready to clip the wings of the Eagle that is still green on the pitch as far as the Black Stars are concerned.” Gabby tweeted with a picture of Partey.
Partey has been in a devastating form for the Gunners in the ongoing Premier League campaign and was adjudged with the Player of the Month award for February.
He is expected to captain the Black Stars in the absence of Andre Ayew who is suspended for the Nigeria game.
The Black Stars will start training this evening at the Accra Sports Stadium before they travel to Kumasi on Tuesday to continue preparations.
Having missed out in the last edition of the Mundial, the Black Stars are seeking to play in the World Cup for the fourth time having played in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.
In head-to-head meetings between the two West African rivals, Ghana enjoys the superiority having won 25, drew 19 and lost 12 in 56 clashes.
