Ghanaian attacker Dennis Agyare Antwi joins UAE first Division side Al Taawon Club

Ghanaian attacker Dennis Agyare Antwi has completed a move to UAE first division side Al Taawon Club in the ongoing transfer window.

He joins the club on a free transfer after a  successful stay with India based Gokalum Karela.

Antwi has had spells in Malaysia, Sweden, and Norway, before joining Gokulam Kerala FC in I-League.

Born in Accra, the capital of Ghana, the forward started to play at the age of 12 for Ajax Academy in his city. He later went on to play for Accra Hearts of Oak SC, a Ghanaian Premier League club.

In the year 2011, when he was 18 years old, he signed for the Malaysian Super League side, Kelantan FC. That was a breakthrough season for young Antwi, as he won the Malaysian Super League and Malaysian FA Cup with the club. In his debut season in Malaysia, he scored four goals in 10 appearances.

Later he was loaned to another Malaysian club, Perlis FA. In 2013, he returned to Ghana, where he played for International Allies FC. After a highly successful season in his home town, where he scored 10 goals in 12 appearances, he moved to Swedish Division Two club FC Rosengård 1917.

Antwi had yet another superb season at the Swedish club, where he started in 20 matches and scored 10 goals. His next stint was at FK Jerv, a Norwegian first division club. He scored another 10 goals for them before moving to another Norwegian top division team IK Start. He started 29 matches for the club and scored 14 goals.

He later moved to another Norwegian club Asane and also returned back to Sweden to play for Trelleborgs FF, a second division club.

The 28 year old Gokalum Kerala FC former striker Dennis Agyare Antwi scored an impressive 11 goals from 15 games, with 7 assists to help Kerala United to clinched the Indian League 2 on the final day.

Antwi together with Ghanaian duo Awal Mohammed and Philip Tetteh played a key role for Gokalum Kerala FC on their way to winning their first ever Indian League 2 title.
