"Albacete was the best to continue growing" – Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Attipoe on move

Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Attipoe has expressed delight after joining Spanish lower-tier side Albacete Balompie in the winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old joins the club on a free transfer after leaving financially-stricken Extremadura in January.

Attipoe put pen to paper on a four-year deal that will see him stay at the club until 2026.

“For me it was a difficult decision, but people I trust helped me to decide what was best for my career, to continue growing and move up in category and level. That is why I have decided to come to Albacete, there are many possibilities here”.

“I am very happy to be here, with my teammates and with the coaching staff”.

“As the coach needs, I can work on both sides.”

“I think it is not a barrier, since football is for everyone and it is played everywhere”.

The young defender joined Extremadura in 2019 after leaving the Ghana Premier League to continue his career abroad.

However, with Extremadura going through financial crisis, he was allowed to leave as a free agent.
