Kwabe Schultz featured in the side 2-0 away defeat to FC Carl Zeiss but unfortunately collapsed after the game.
Footballghana.com understands the Ghanaian defender had suffered Covid-19 last month.
The club’s trainer Andre Meyer who confirmed the incident said, “I was just shaking hands with the referees when I noticed a crowd was forming on the pitch.”
“I first went to Kwabe Schulz’s, who was being looked after by the Jena team doctor in their cabin, and then wanted to go over to my team. In the corridor, my assistant coach met me and said that Ugur Tezel had also collapsed. That played like in a movie”
“Seeing your own boys lying there, you can’t get the pictures out of your head.” The teammates are also badly hit. “After the excitement subsided, I noticed how each and every one of them realized that it could have happened to them too.” Said Meyer.
The Ghanaian defender is believed to be in a good condition at the moment.
