Ghanaian football administrator Kofi Manu explains John Boye’s exclusion from Black Stars in recent times
Ghanaian football administrator, Kofi Manu has explained John Boy exclusion from the Black Stars in recent times.
The towering defender currently ply his trade for Saudi Arabian side Al Fayha after leaving French Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz at the expiration of his contract.
Despite regular playing time at club level, the former Hearts of Lion marksman has been overlooked by the technical handlers of the Black Stars in recent times.
However, in an interview with Onua TV, Kofi Manu disclosed John Boye has been neglected from the Black Stars because of a long-standing tussle between him and Kurt Okraku having failed to work with his agency, Proton Consult in his switch to Stade Rennes from Heart of Lions in 2008.
“I have a file with all document which I will be reading soon and it will show why this current GFA will never invite John Boye into the national team even if the coach needs him.”
“Proton Consult previously wanted to transfer him to Israel but instead he joined Stade Rennais. I owe 5% of his transfer fee but I didn’t get my share.
“The Proton Consult were about to earn $70K from the initial move to Israe, but because he didn’t make that move, they have also decided not to hand him a Black Stars call up.”
“Asamoah Gyan, John Boye, Afriyie Acquah were all supposed to be handed a call up in the ongoing AFCON.”
The last time the 34-year-old was handed a call up into the Black Stars was in October 2020 when the Black Stars were preparing for a double header against Sudan in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
