Ghanaian forward Antoine Elorm Semenyo has expressed his delight after being voted Sky Bet Championship January Player of the Month.
Semenyo scored three goals and provided three assists for Bristol City in the Championship.
The 22-year-old beat-off competition from Blackpool FC goalkeeper Dan Grimshaw, Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Chris Willock.
“It was a great honour to be nominated in the first place and to win the award is very special,” he said.
“Our performances have improved since the New Year and credit to all the players and staff – we are definitely heading in the right direction. I’ve just got to keep working hard for the team and doing my job.”
He was chosen by the judging panel of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The England-born Ghanaian has recently agreed to play for Ghana as the process of switching nationality has already begun.
