Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Aziz Tetteh joins Polish side Widzew Łódź on one-yeal deal

Polish side Widzew Łódź have completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder, Abdul Aziz Tetteh in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old has penned a one-year contract,  with an option to extend it for another two years after passing his medicals.

Below is a statement from the club:

“Abdul Aziz Tetteh is the new player of Widzew Łódź.”

“The defensive midfielder successfully underwent medical examinations and signed a one-year contract with Widzew Łódź, with an option to extend it for another two years.

“The 31-year-old is a homegrown of the Liberty Professionals club, and in the following years of his career, he was a player of the Italian Udinese Calcio, from which he was loaned to Spanish teams: Xerez CD, Granada, CD Leganés, and Montañeros.

“After parting with Udinese, Tetteh signed a contract with the Greek AS Fokikos, and then – AO Platanias. It was in Platanias that the Ghanaian was spotted by Polish scouts and went to Lech Poznań. The central midfielder is well known to Polish fans from his performances in the capital of Greater Poland, where he spent 2.5 years, and together with Kolejorz, he enjoyed winning the Polish Super Cup twice.

“Tetteh played 65 times in the top league, and he also played in the Europa League to his balance sheet. The 31-year-old was transferred from Lech to Dinamo Moscow, where he performed for a year and a half. Before the start of the 2019/2020 season, the Ghanaian decided to move to Turkey – to the Gaziantep FK.

“It is worth noting that during his career, the midfielder was noticed by the coach of the national youth team and made five appearances for the Ghana U20 team.

“Abdul Aziz Tetteh passed all medical tests on Thursday and signed a contract with Widzew Łódź for a period of twelve months with an option to extend it for another two years.”
