Ghanaian striker Ebenezer Assifuah on target as Pau FC beat AS Nancy in Ligue 2 opener
Ghanaian striker Ebenezer Assifuah scored for Pau FC in their 2-1 win over AS Nancy in the opening game of 2021/22 Ligue 2 season on Saturday.
The 28-year-old, who was replaced by Samuel Essende in the 67th minute put up an incredible performance as his side sealed all three points at the Stade du Hameau.
Assifuah opened the scoring for the home side in the 34th minute of the game.
After the recess, Senegalese forward Mamadou Thiam equalised for the visitors following an assist from Lamine Cisse in the 55th minute.
Victor Lobry bagged the match-winner in the 93rd minute for Pau FC as they cruised to a 2-1 victory.
Last season, Assifuah made 35 appearances across all competitions, scored six goals, and provided two assists.
This season, the former Black Satellites forward will be looking to make a huge impact at the club by scoring more goals and providing more assists as they eye promotion to Ligue 1 at the end of the season.
