Ghanaian youngster Darko Gyabi scores as Man City thump Derby County in PL2
English-born Ghanaian youngster Darko Gyabi scored as Manchester City U-23 thrashed Derby County U-23 5-0 in the Premier League 2.
Gyabi put up an impressive display to bag his first goal of the season in Man City’s comfortable victory.
A free kick from James McAtee midway through the first half handed the visitors the advantage, before they went on to put the Rams to the sword after the interval.
Gyabi, McAtee, Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb hit the net in the second half to condemn Derby to a 5-0 defeat at St George’s Park.
The result leaves City four points clear at the summit while the Rams remain bottom on 14 points from their 17 league outings, four points adrift of Blackburn Rovers with a game in hand.
The 17-year-old graduated to the Man City U23 following his outstanding display last season where he scored eight goals in 18 appearances for the Under-18 side.
Gyabi has featured in seven games for the league leaders this season.
