GPL 21/22: Esso picks MVP award in Ashgold draw with Karela
AshantiGold SC midfielder Eric Esso was named the man of the match in the Miners 1-1 draw at home with Karela United on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts fell behind after Humin Dafie’s long-range strike nestled the bottom corner of Kofi Mensah’s goal.
Ashgold however managed to draw level later on in the game and Esso was at the heart of it as they came from behind to earn a point from the match.
The 27-year-old was given the nod to start after he netted the match-winner in their season opener away at Eleven Wonders FC last week.
Esso wasn’t however able to repeat the magic again as his thunderous strike from the center struck the woodwork.
Ashgold now have 4 points from their opening games while, Karela are still searching for their first win of the season.
