High-flying Benab FC begin Division Two campaign with a win

Benab FC began their Division Two campaign with a 2-1 victory against Ginak FC on Saturday.

Two goal in each halves from Abdul Manan and Mohammed Umar were enough to hand them the maximum points at Kings College Park in Kumasi.

The club after successful pre-season which saw them overcome the likes of Asante Kotoko, King Faisal and Koforidua Suhyen Football Club didn’t dissapoint in the first game of their maiden Division Two campaign.

In-form attacker Abdul Manan fired Benab FC in the lead on the 20th minute, finishing home with ease in the penalty box.

Despite creating a lot of opportunities, the host couldn’t add to their lead till the blast of the first half whistle.

After the recess, Winger Mohammed Umar (Messi) doubled Benab’s lead after beating two of his markers before latching in a shot at the back of the net.

The visitors pulled one back just after the second goal but it wasn’t enough as Benab FC held on to win their first game of the campaign.

Benab FC will make a trip to Chiraptre on Saturday to face Kumasi City FC in the second game of the campaign.
