I did not run away from Ghana job – Milovan Rajevac

New Black Stars Head Coach Milovan Rajevac has rejected claims that he ditched Ghana after the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Rajevac, in his first reign as Ghana’s coach, was named African Coach of the Year in 2010 after impressive outings at the AFCON and World Cup respectively.

He made history by leading the Black Stars in 2010 to reach the quarter-finals at the World Cup in South Africa.

Few months earlier, he led Ghana through to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Angola in which they fell to Egypt.

Milo, affectionately called by Ghanaian has been criticized for ditching the Black Stars, a period when the leadership of the Ghana FA tried in vain to convince him to stay.

Speaking after returning for a second spell, he has rejected claims of running away the Ghana job but insisted he served his contract before his departure.

“Let’s not dwell so much on the past. I believe we should look at what is ahead of us and tackle it successfully. I did not run away from Ghana; my contract actually ended. I served the full term.” He said.

His first assignment is against Zimbabwe at Cape Coast in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
