I knew I wouldn’t be sent off in the PSG game – Dennis Appiah
Ghanaian international, Dennis Appiah has disclosed that he was confident he was not going to receive a red card last Sunday when he gave away a penalty kick in the game against PSG.
The defender was in action for his team when they hammered PSG 3-1 in the French Ligue 1 last weekend.
In the second half, he committed a foul that many thought he should have been sent off. However, he survived and lasted the entire duration of the big game.
Speaking in an interview Dennis Appiah has said, “I was surprised to take a red, but above all calm about the decision to come. I felt that I was not the last defender. I felt that he was going to cancel it. I have a lot more scared on the penalty… I really thought I would take a second yellow so a red and leave my teammates at ten and I was not good for that.
“Appiah continued, “After the penalty, I did not tell myself that it was not necessary that I make a mistake otherwise I was going to be expelled, I continued to defend normally and set foot. That’s how I stayed in my match.”
