I never judge a player on the basis of a performance – Kompany on Francis Amuzu
On Tuesday Francis Amuzu did not start the game against Genk but came on late in the second half when his team was flying to victory.
After the game, Anderlecht coach Vincent Kompany responded to questions about Francis Amuzu and another teammate.
“I don’t want to mix everything too,” said Vincent Kompany on this subject this Friday at a press conference. “These are two players who came into play against Genk 48 hours earlier, who gave a very, very good performance, and who had a lesser day two days later. I never judge a player on the basis of a performance,”
“My role of coach is to watch a series of matches, a series of practices and put everything together to judge the evolution of the person. Ideally, every minute they play they are at their best level, but sometimes it’s not,” he said.
Amuzu is struggling to break into Vincent Kompany’s starting lineup and is mostly used as a substitute.
The player is still under contract until mid-2024. According to Transfermarkt, he has a market value of 3.8 million euros.
