Injuries caused me to lose passion for the game – Emmanuel Frimpong
According to Emmanuel Frimpong, the constant injury crises that plagued his football career forced him to lose interest in the game.
Due to difficult injury issues, the ex-England U16 captain was forced to hang up his boots at the age of 29.
Despite stints at Arsenal, Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Arsenal Tula, Barnsley, and a number of other teams in Sweden and Cyprus, the former defensive midfielder told Karl Tuffour on GTV Sports+’s Sunday Night Live show that he lost interest in football at some point.
The veteran broadcaster questioned the one-cap Ghana international on why he did not pursue a career as a manager in the dugout he said:
“To be honest, for the past couple of years, I have lost the passion for football because when you love something that much and it brings a bitter end it makes the passion go down,”
“For the past couple of years, I have been focusing on other things. I have had to get myself back together and at the moment I think it’s the right time for me to start something,” he ended.
