It’s not the best to wash dirty clothes in public – Ex-Kotoko coach Didi Dramani tells Mariano Bareto

Former Asante Kotoko coach Didi Dramani has expressed his displeasure about Mariano Bareto running to the media with the problems in the team.

The Portuguese trainer guided the Porcupine Warriors to finish second in the table at the end of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The 64-year-old played 22 matches in all competitions where he won 11, drew 6 times and lost 5 times.

Bareto who seems to be frustrated with the situation at Kotoko has been vocal about the happenings in the team.

He lamented on the lack of washrooms at the club’s training ground compelling the players to use the bush nearly to attend to nature’s call as and when necessary.

But Didi Dramani, who guided Asante Kotoko to win two consecutive Ghana Premier League titles says it is not the best for Bareto to wash the dirty cloth of the club in public, saying he should have known the situation at hand before accepting the Kotoko coaching job.

“I don’t know what the exact issue is, but it is not the best to wash your dirty linen in public. Some of these things have to be dealt with within the organization,” Dramani stated.

“It is not possible to find just any individual by the way side and bring him into an organization. Due diligence is always done before hiring an individual. He [Barreto] should’ve been aware of the situation at Kotoko before he took the job.

“When such utterances are made it asks serious questions about the future of the head coach.

“Does he [Barreto] want to leave, or he wants things to be fixed? But the bottom line is it shouldn’t have been public because it looks bad on the club.”
