Joseph Paintsil plays in Genk's win over KV Mechelen

Joseph Paintsil came in as a substitute for Genk, who easily defeated KV Mechelen on Wednesday.

Paintsil played for three minutes as Genk won 4-1 at home to stay eighth in the Belgian Pro League league.

Luca Oyen, Mujaid Sadick, Bongonda, and Paul Onuachu scored for Genk while Hugo Cuypers scored for KV Mechelen.

Since returning from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where he excelled for the Black Stars, the 24-year-old hasn’t missed a game.

The former Tema Youth player has played 86 minutes, mainly coming off the bench as he battles for a starting spot at the club.

Paintsil has five goals and three assists in 24 appearances this season in all competitions. He joined Genk in 2018 and was shipped out on loan to MKE Ankaragucu in 2020.
