Kamaldeen Sulemana selected to the Ligue 1 team of the week
After excelling for Stade Rennes, Ghanaian youngster Kamaldeen Sulemana has been selected to L’Equipe’s Ligue 1 squad of the week.
Kamaldeen made his competitive debut for the club with a spectacular goal against RC Lens on Saturday in Ligue 1.
In the 15th minute, the 19-year-old moved onto his right foot and curled the ball into the right corner to give Rennes the lead.
However, his goal was unable to seal the win for Rennes, who were held back in the second half by a strike from Seko Fofana.
Despite the game finishing in a 1-1 stalemate, Kamaldeen Sulemana’s effort earned him a spot on L’Equipe’s Ligue 1 team of the week.
Following his big-money move to Rennes in July, Kamaldeen Sulemana became the most expensive Ghanaian young player.
Kamaldeen joined Rennes from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland in a reported €21 million deal (€15 million cash and $5 million in bonuses).
