Konyaspor President Fatih Özgökçen confirms talks to sign Caleb Ekuban is advanced  

Turkish side Konyaspor are set to sign Ghanaian striker Caleb Ekuban in the ongoing transfer window, Footballghana.com can report.

The 28-year-old secured a move from Trabzonspor to Italian Serie A outfit Genoa in 2021 summer but has failed to live up to expectations scoring just ones in 17 games.

Ekuban forced Trabzonspor to sell him last summer as he signed a long-term contract with Genoa.

However, he has been abysmal with just one goal this season, coming in a cup match. He has not scored in the league.

Footballghana.com can disclose talks are at advanced stage with the Ghana international and Genoa.

According to Fatih Özgökçen, President of Konyaspor, Ekuban will meet the Technical Director, of the club, İlhan Palut to sign a contract this week.

The club wants Ekuban to sign an initial 2-year deal.

“Our negotiations with Ekuban have reached a certain stage”” he told TRT Spor.

Ekuban is contracted to relegation threatened Genoa until 2024.

The former Leeds United striker had his best form with Trabzonspor as he played 103 games and scored 29 goals and 18 assists.
