Kotoko had no sponsors before I came in- Nana Yaw Amponsah
Current CEO of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has revealed that the club did not have sponsors before he took on the role.
Asante Kotoko had a number of sponsors during the course of this campaign, most notably ones from Adonko Next Level and Hisense.
They also managed to secure a partnership with Premier League club Southampton.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Amponsah looked back at his achievements.
”I will say Kotoko had zero sponsors in good standing before I took over.
Four sponsors were on paper attached to Kotoko but they were just occupying space. The number one major sponsor had suspended payment due to covid”.
“Currently we have secured seven(7) sponsors and three(3) partners and they are all in good standing. We have Hisense, Star assurance, Star life, Goil, Creek, Adonko next level, ticketlake, cedarvite, Veo, Instat and errea as sponsors and partners respectively” he added.
Asante Kotoko ended the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season in second place behind arch rivals Hearts of Oak.
