“Lack of unity cost us the League title”- Naby Keita
Asante Kotoko forward Naby Keita has explained why he thinks Kotoko failed to win the Ghana Premier League title.
The Guinean attacker scored 2 goals in 12 appearances for Kotoko in a season the Kumasi-based side finished second to winners Hearts of Oak.
The former Renaissance Club De Conakry player cited lack of unity as the reason the Phobians won the title.
“Kotoko had good players who could have won the league but there was division and Hearts were serious than us. Kotoko needs to be united for the team to prosper,” he said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
The 28-year-old terminated his contract with the Porcupines citing reasons of playing time and documentation renewal purposes.
In October 2018, Keita moved to Ghana and signed a three-year contract with Kotoko on a free transfer.
