Latecomer Tariqe Fosu omitted from Morocco friendly
Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu has been sidelined for Ghana’s upcoming friendly with Morocco by Head Coach Charles Akonnor, FMIG can confirm.
The 25 year old has been ommitted from the travelling pack for the Black Stars’ clash with the Atlas Lions on Tuesday June 8 in Rabat.
Coach Akonnor took the decision after the player turned up late for the training camp for the upcoming international assignments.
According to the Ghana FA, he reported to camp on Friday evening, after the side’s training session in Cape Coast.
Coach Akonnor then engaged Fosu briefly telling him that reporting late has scuppered his chances of travelling with the team to Morocco.
A 25 man squad plus technical team and other officials are currently in Rabat preparing for the game which kicks off at 8pm GMT.
Tariqe Fosu will however be able to join the team on Thursday for the game against Ivory Coast.
He made his debut for the Black Stars in a friendly encounter against Mali in October last year.
