Legon Cities coach Bashir Hayford suspects foul play in Chelsea defeat
Legon Cities head coach Bashir Hayford has expressed his disappointment following their 2-1 defeat at Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.
The Royals rallied back to equalize through Hans Kwoffie after going down before the half time break.
However Stephen Amankoma won it for Chelsea late in the game to secure all three points for the hosts in Dormaa.
Speaking after the game, Bashir Hayford said he was proud of the performance his boys despite the defeat and suggested the match officials were bullied by the home fans at half time which influenced his sub-par display.
“We played so well. We were on top of this game. Hard defeat to take. At the tunnel, refs were threatened by home fans and that lead into some bad calls from the referee in this game. We are so disappointed” the experienced gaffer said in his post match presser.
The Royals will look to bounce back when they league leaders Great Olympics on Friday.
