Liverpool looking for replacements for AFCON bound stars
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, may decide to enter the January transfer market given that the African Cup of Nations is poised to begin a week earlier than expected. AFCON was initially slated to take place from January 9 to February 6.
Klopp will be without Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah for a month as they play in the event. Naby Keita, a midfielder, is also scheduled to travel.
The Reds’ lack of wide alternatives outside of Mane and Salah has led to speculation that Klopp may want to replace the duo.
This season, Mane and Salah have scored a total of 30 goals in all competitions, and there are few attack pairs in European football who are more prolific.
Salah scored 21 goals this season and is the Premier League’s leading scorer.
