Malik Jabir urges Kotoko to sign good players to support Mariano Barreto next season if he stays

Veteran Ghanaian coach, Malik Jabir has charged Asante Kotoko to sign good players to support head coach Mariano Barreto to win the league title next season if he will stay at post.

Currently set to be assessed before his future will be decided, it is possible the Portuguese gaffer will be with the Ghanaian giants next season.

Should that be the case, Malik Jabir has advised Asante Kotoko to be ready to resource coach Mariano Barreto before the start of next season.

“…Within two years, the number of coaches Kotoko used, they should now sit down and see that it was one of their problems. This time if Barreto decides to stay, and they agree with him fine, they should give him ample time and help him with disciplined players.

“How can you go to do recruitment when there is no research on the player. No big team will go in for a player just because you saw him play well,” Malik Jabir told Class FM in an interview.

In the recently ended Ghana Premier League season, Mariano Barreto guided Asante Kotoko to finish second behind champions Hearts of Oak.
