Manchester United interested in Ghana target Tariq Lamptey
Premier League giants, Manchester United have shown interest in English-born Ghanaian defender, Tariq Lamptey, Footballghana.com can report.
The 21-year-old who joined Brighton and Hove Albion in 2020 for €3.3 million from Chelsea has been instrumental for the side since his arrival.
The former Chelsea right-back has been in top form since returning from injury and looks to have reclaimed his starting spot in Graham Potters’ team.
According to reports in the English media outlet, the Red Devils are interested in the enterprising right-back but will have to beat off competition from Arsenal to secure his services.
The three-time Champions League winners wants to sign Lamptey as a replacement for Diego Dallot who has attracted interest from As Roma and also create competition for Aaron Wan Bissaka who has been criticized by fans over uninspiring performance.
Brighton could demand more than €50 million in the January transfer window for the Ghanaian defender.
Although, Lamptey has represented England at the youth level, he is eligible to play for Ghana at senior level.
Lamptey was born to Ghanaian parents in England.
