Match Report; Aduana Stars 2-1 Karela United – Aduana beat Karela to finish fourth
Aduana Stars signed off the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season with a 2-1 victory against Karela United.
Aduana got off to a flyer after they took an early lead through a well time finished from Charles Kamara. The hosts continued to dominate the game and increased their tally to two after a neat finish from forward Benjamin Tweneboah.
The game was however turned on its head after Aduana Stars goalkeeper Massawudu was given his marching orders and the home side were reduced to 10-men with 10 more minutes to go. Having exhausted all their substitutions, defender Hafiz Adams had to man the post for the remainder of the game as make-shift goalkeeper.
Karela United Striker Diawisie Taylor was then handed a glorious opportunity to finish off what has been a wonderful season for the attacker with his customary goal after Karela were handed a penalty with two more minutes to go.
Taylor expertly converted the penalty and took his tally for the season to 19 goals while winning the golden boot.
Aduana Stars held on for victory and finish 4th with 55 points while Karela United and the season in 8th position with 46 points.
