Match Report: WAFA 1-0 Hearts of Oak- Party-pooper Atte Yousifou dents Phobian’s coronation
WAFA SC beat Champions Hearts of Oak by a lone goal in their final game of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season on Saturday.
In a cagey first half battle, that failed to produce a goal, it was Justus Torsutsey’s long range effort that hit the crossbar which was the highlight of the half.
However, Atte Yousifou’s stunning free-kick in the second half proved to be the difference between the sides at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.
The 64th minute strike handed Hearts’ only their seven defeat of the campaign.
Coach Samuel Boadu’s side finished a hugely successful season with 61 points after 17 wins and 10 draws.
Today’s result also means the Academy lads finished 3rd in the Ghana Premier League and they earn GHc 80,000 cash prize.
