Maxwell Abbey Quaye’s strike sends Olympics back into top 4

Accra Great Olympics have temporarily returned to the top 4 of this season’s Premier League thanks to a 1-0 win they recorded in week 30.

Olympics had dropped to 6th place following a poor run of form which saw the likes of Karela and Dreams FC eclipsing them, and thus they needed a good result at home against Bechem United.

Annor Walker’s side were boosted by the return of Samuel Abbey-Ashie Quaye who replaced Michel Otou in the starting XI.

Samuel was part of the national U-23 side who suffered humiliation against Japan and South Korea earlier this month.

He would not go on to suffer another defeat, however, after he helped his side secure all three points against Bechem United at the Accra Sports stadium.

Olympics won the game by a lone goal which was scored by Maxwell Abbey Quaye who in the process recorded his 9th of the season.

The win takes Olympics into 4th place with 48 points after Karela United lost away to current league leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
