Messi doesn’t deserve 2021 Ballon d’Or – Prince Tagoe
Former Ghana striker, Prince Tagoe says it will be undeserving if Argentine great Lionel Messi is awarded the 2021 Ballon d’Or.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar is one of the favourites to win this year’s award especially after finally guiding Argentina to Copa America glory.
Speaking to Angel TV today, Prince Tagoe says it will be unfair if the 2021 Ballon d’Or goes to Lionel Messi instead of Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.
“If Messi wins this Ballon d’Or, it will not be cos of his performance in the year. It will be cos of his name and past achievements. Lewandowski deserves to win.
“If Lewandowski or others don’t win & Messi does win, it will be unfair,” the former Ghana international shared.
The 2021 Ballon d’Or is coming on today, Monday, November 29, 2021.
Besides Messi and Lewandowski, Kante and Jorginho [both at Chelsea] are in the running for the award after a successful 2020/2022 season.
