Milovan Rajevac in pole position to become new Black Stars coach as GFA miss out on preferred choice
Serbian tactician, Milovan Rajevac is leading the race to become the new head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, sources have told footballghana.com.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) last Monday announced that it has terminated the contract of Black Stars coach CK Akonnor.
The decision was taken by the Executive Council of the Ghana FA on Monday on the back of an emergency meeting that became necessary after the Black Stars lost 1-0 to South Africa in the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Immediately, a three member committee was set up by the GFA to find a new head coach for the Black Stars.
Although the GFA preferred to replace CK Akonnor with Herve Renard, it has missed out due to the huge salary demands of the French tactician.
As a result, the other candidate shortlisted, Milovan Rajevac is in the pole position for the Black Stars job.
