Mohammed Kudus not joining Ghana for 2021 AFCON, says Ajax coach Ten Hag
Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Erik ten Hag says Mohammed Kudus is unfit and it will be strange to allow the player to join Ghana in Cameroon for the 2021 AFCON.
The highly-rated attacker is one of 28 players called by Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac for the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
As a result of an injury setback, he has not joined the team in Cameroon although Ghana has already played two matches at the tournament.
Giving up an update on the player’s fitness, Ajax Coach Erik Ten Hag says it is not possible for Mohammed Kudus to join the Ghana team now.
“[Not including him in the Ajax squad against Utrecht] already proves what I’ve said all along. He is not [match] fit and it would be strange if he would join the [AFCON],” the manager shared.
Kudus watched from the stands today as Ajax whipped FC Utrecht 3-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie.
