MTN FA Cup: Hearts of Oak 3-0 Liberty Professionals- Barnieh, Obeng Jr to the fore as Phobians make light work of Liberty
Daniel Barnieh Afriyie scored a brace to power Hearts of Oak past Liberty Professionals in the MTN FA Cup round of 64 on Wednesday.
The 10-time champions showed their pedigree at the Accra Sports Stadium as they easily dispatched the Scientific Soccer lads 3-0.
Barnieh broke the deadlock for Hearts early in the game to set the tone for what turned out be a pretty routine victory.
A minute later, Goalkeeper Richard Attah was made to earn his clean sheet after making a point blank save to deny Ibrahim from fetching the equalizer for Liberty.
Before red-hot Obeng Jnr doubled the lead for the Phobians on the stroke of half to give them a two-goal cushion.
Three minutes after the recess, Barnieh sealed the victory with a delightful chip to ensure Hearts progressed to the next round of the competition.
