Nicholas Opoku scores first Ghana goal against Sao Tome in AFCON Qualifier
Amiens defender Nicholas Opoku opened his scoring account with the Black Stars of Ghana on Sunday in the 2021 AFCON Qualifier with Sao Tome and Principe.
The former Berekum Chelsea defender headed home the opener just ten minutes into the game after connecting perfectly to a Kudus Mohammed corner kick.
The goal is his first for the Ghana national team since he was handed his debut on 1st July 2017 in a friendly against the USA.
Opoku had already been capped ten times for the Black Stars and had to wait until his 11th game to score his first goal for the national team.
Ghana hosted Sao Tome in the final game of the 2021 AFCON Qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.
