NPP MP Yaw Boamah wants inquiry into Black Stars player selection

Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central Constituency, Patrick Yaw Boamah wants player selection into the Black Stars to be investigated by football authorities.

The 47-year-old claims a player must have a godfather to be invited into the national team, something he sees not to be right.

According to him, the approach of the Ghana Football Association in selecting players for the Black Stars is not prudent and ahs therefore called for investigation into call ups.

“Now, you must have a godfather to be invited into the national team no matter how talented you are,” Yaw Boamah claimed.

“That is why we need an inquiry into the selection process into our national teams. Why was Kudus absent from the national team? He chose to join Ajax in Portugal to prepare for the upcoming Champions League. Why was Jeffrey Schlupp absent? Why is Tariq Lamptey refusing to play for our national team? Why was Salisu Mohammed absent? There is a problem with player selection and that ought to be investigated by the managers of our football,” he suggested.
