OFFICIAL : Ghanian winger Clinton Antwi joins Finnish side KuPs FC
Finnish top-flight side KuPs have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian winger Clinton Antwi in the ongoing transfer window.
The winger has penned a two-year deal with the club following a successful negotiations.
He joins the club from Danish side Nordsjaelland.
A statement on the club’s website read,
Kuopio Palloseura strengthens its ranks. 22-year-old winger Clinton Antwi joins KuPS in strength with a two-year deal. The Ghanaian moves to Kuopio from FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark.
Clinton Antwi moved from the Right to Dream Academy in his home country of Ghana to the Nordsjaelland organization in January 2018. His first season in the new club was spent mostly with the U19, and reserve team.
In the 2019/20 season, Antwi was already in a significant part of the Nordsjaelland national team, with Tiger finally finishing sixth in the Danish Super League.
The tough competition in the team took Antwin to the bottom of Esbjerg fB for the 2020/21 season. The Ghanaian’s season was also strong in Esbjerg, when he scored as many as seven of his team’s goals.
In FC Nordsjaelland’s young team, Clinton Antwi was part of the team’s more experienced guard. KuPS gets a really versatile, fast and attack-oriented player in its ranks. Playing three downstairs, Antwi is able to play the role of wingback excellently, but he also plays the role of winger.
Antwi went to Kuopio for a short test period in early December, after which KuPS and FC Nordjsaelland finally agreed to move to KuPS. According to Kuiki analyst Viki Savonen , Antwi has been on KuPS binoculars for a long time.
Clinton Antwi joined the training strength of the Kuopio Ball Club during the final week and is already fully involved in the strength of the team.
