OFFICIAL: USM Alger announce Kwame Opoku capture

Algerian giants USM Alger have announced the capture of Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku from the Porcupine Warriors.

The Red and Blacks on Monday announced the signing of the Kotoko striker on their official twitter handle.

According to the Red Ones, Opoku will sign a four-and-a-half year contract in a deal believed to be in the region of €600,000.

A statement on the club’s Twitter account read: ”The management of the USMA informs  its dear supporters that an agreement has been reached with Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko SC for the final transfer of striker Kwame Opoku who will sign up for four and a half years.”

Opoku joined Asante from Division One League side Nkoranza Warriors before the commencement of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League after announcing his goal scoring prowess with the BA-based side.

He raked 9 goals in 16 matches for the Porcupine Warriors.

The 21-year-old is part of Ghana’s home-based squad preparing for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and Principe.
