Otto Addo praises Black Stars players for scoring three 'classical goals' against Madagascar

Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has heaped praise on his Black Stars players for scoring three classical goals in the game against Madagascar.

The Ghana national team hosted Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium in midweek in the first match of Group E of the qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Although the first half ended in a stalemate, the Black Stars returned from recess to score three goals.

Impressed with the performance, Coach Otto Addo says his players deserved to be praised.

“They proved that they were hungry for goals by not only playing as a team with good runs, tackling and creating chances, but they also converted three classic goals, so their performance is really commendable,” the Ghana coach said in his post-match press conference.

Amid the applause Coach Otto Addo is receiving after that win, he says it is too early.

“The Black Stars dominated play today and did not only create chances but also scored three classic goals against the Barea of Madagascar. It’s too early for me to talk about the type of legacy I want to leave for football fans as a coach,” the German-trained gaffer said.

Up next for Otto Addo and Ghana, the national team will this weekend play against the Central African Republic in the second match of Group E.

That game will be played in Angola on Sunday, June 3, 2022.
