Otto's work at BVB does not affect his commitment with Ghana - Sebastian Kehl

BVB’s Head of Licensing Sebastian Kehl  has statwed that Black Stars interim coach Otto Addo’s work at the club does not affect his commitment with Ghana.

Otto Addo was named as Black Stars interim coach after the sacking of Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac.

Ghana were eliminated in the group stage of the Afcon 2021 without a win. The GFA chose Addo, who had already worked as chief scout for the GFA for around two years from December 2013.

His work as a talent coach with the Westphalians remains unaffected by his interlude with the Black Stars. Addo himself made two 45-minute appearances for Ghana at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

“The Ghanaian association approached us with a request to release Otto Addo for the two games of this international period,” Sebastian Kehl  revealed.

He also added:“Being the national coach of your home country is always something special and a great honour. So of course we complied with this request. Otto’s work at BVB does not affect his commitment during the international match period in any way.”
