Red card to Thomas Partey a big loss for us, says Arsenal manager Arteta
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has described Thomas Partey’s red card in the game against Liverpool last Thursday as a big loss for his side.
The Ghana international on Thursday traveled from Cameroon to England on Thursday and was immediately included in the matchday squad for the crucial game in the EFL.
In what was a game against favourites Liverpool, Thomas Partey started from the bench but was introduced in the second half.
Unfortunately, two nasty tackles shortly after coming on saw the player receiving a red card.
Speaking after a game that Liverpool won 2-0, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said the red card is a big blow.
“It is a big loss (Partey) and we have to learn from that. We have played the last three games with 10 men and against top sides you can’t do that because we are completely exposed,” he said.
After the incident, Thomas Partey took to his social media to apologise to Arsenal fans and Ghanaians.
