Report: Hearts of Oak 3-0 Medeama SC- Phobians reach MTN FA cup final for a record 20th time
Hearts of Oak’s hopes of a double is still alive after a comprehensive victory over Medeama SC in the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup on Sunday evening.
The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Champions were in irresistible form as they strolled past the Mauve and Yellows at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Benjamin Afutu shot Hearts in front with a powerful header early in the game despite Medeama’s promising start.
Isaac Mensah doubled their advantage eight minutes after the restart before Daniel Afriyie Barnieh put the game to bed from the penalty spot with fifteen minutes on the clock.
The result means that the Phobians have reached the final of the MTN FA Cup for a record 20th time
They book a date with AshantiGold who needed extra time to see off Berekum Chelsea 4-1 earlier in the day
Hearts of Oak will go into the finals as the bookmakers favourites having won 10 MTN FA Cup titles – the most in the competition’s history.
