REPORT: Karela United 2-0 Medeama SC- Karela claim Nzema derby bragging rights
Karela United took the derby bragging rights as they secured a crucial 2-0 win against Medeama SC to take a huge step towards Ghana Premier League glory.
The opening half at Crosby Awuah Memorial park had finished goalless in what was a tight, cagey affair.
But a cool finish by Diawisie Taylor on the hour mark eased the tension and nerves and allowed the hosts to gain a firm foothold on the game.
The 61st minute strike was the striker’s ninth goal of the campaign.
Thirteen minutes later his partner in crime Kwame Boateng also registered his name on the scoresheet to put the game beyond Medeama’s reach.
The victory see Karela maintain their position at the summit of the table with 21 points, two clear of Bechem United after 11 rounds of matches.
