REVEALED: Why Valencia declined to sign Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso
Spanish side, Valencia failed to sign Ghana midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso during the winter transfer due to an injury.
The energetic midfielder was strongly linked to the Spanish club during the winter transfer.
However, the move collapsed due to an injury, Footballghana.com can confirm.
It will be recalled Wakaso was named in Black Stars squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] hosted in Cameroon but failed to play in any of the three matches played.
He was expected to feature against Gabon and Comoros but the former Levante man sat out of the games.
Due to the situation, Valencia declined to sign the midfielder. The club was not convinced about Wakaso’s situation after failing to play any of the matches at the tournament.
Wakaso currently plays for Chinese side, Shenzhen F.C.
He has featured 65 games for the Black Stars scoring 13 goals in the process.
