RTU Captain David Abagna makes Ghana debut in defeat to Algeria
RTU captain David Abagna Sandan was handed his Black Stars debut in Ghana’s defeat to Algeria in a Pre-AFCON friendly.
The Black Stars as part of preparations for the 2021 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations took on reigning champions Algeria in a Pre-AFCON friendly.
Algeria eased past the Black Stars as goals from Adam Ounas and Islam Slimani, either side of a Jonathan Mensah own goal was enough to hand the Algerians victory.
RTU captain David Abagna Sandan was given his maiden appearance in Black Stars shirt as he was introduced in the 75th minute for Abdul Fatawu Isshaku.
Abagna barely had enough opportunities to influence the game as the Black Stars struggled against their Algerian counterparts.
The Black Stars will continue their preparations for the AFCON at their base in Doha before the team departs to Cameroon on 7th January.
Ghana will begin their AFCON 2021 campaign against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Monday, 10th January, 2022 in Yaounde.
