SAFA goes back to FIFA requesting for more reasons for dismissing protest against Ghana
The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has decided to request from FIFA more reasons why its protest case against Ghana has been dismissed.
SAFA last month filed a former complaint to the world football governing body after its Bafana Bafana lost 1-0 to the Black Stars of Ghana.
In the protest where SAFA raised allegations of match manipulation against the match officials, it sougth to have the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between the Bafana Bafana and the Black Stars replayed.
After going through the protest for weeks, FIFA has communicated that its Disciplinary Committee has thrown out the protest.
“The protest lodged by South Africa has been declared inadmissible by the Disciplinary Committee as it did not meet the requirements foreseen under art. 46 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and art. 14 of the Regulations of the Preliminary Competition of the FIFA World Cup 2022,” a FIFA statement has said.
Having received the news, SAFA CEO, Advocate Tebogo Monthlante says his outfit is looking at available options and will request from FIFA to provide more reasons for dismissing the protest.
“We have received the decision without details and we will request FIFA for the reasons and consider our options,” he said as quoted by SAFA.net.
