SAFA v GFA: I don’t expect CAF president Patrice Motsepe to take sides – Kurt Okraku
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt E.S Okraku has said he does not expect CAF President Kurt Okraku to takes sides in the protest made by the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).
The South Africa FA last Monday filed a formal protest at FIFA seeking for a replay of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the Black Stars and the Bafana.
SAFA in the protest raises allegation of match manipulation by the match officials while insisting that most of the decisions went against the Bafana Bafana.
According Kurt Okraku, although CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe is from South Africa, he does not expect him to back the allegation of the Bafana Bafana.
“As Ghana, we will defend our rights to the maximum and he can’t drag Patrice Motsepe into this,” Okraku said
He added, “Motsepe is CAF president and he doesn’t call the shots at SAFA. We voted for Motsepe to represent a truly democratic CAF and not to take sides.
“The Motsepe I know won’t take a side and I don’t expect him to take sides.”
FIFA will next week have its Disciplinary Committee look into the protest filed by SAFA.
