South Africa hopes to host the 2022 CAF Champions League final
South Africa hopes to host the CL final, as well as the CAF Women’s Championship final for the second time.
Last year’s CL final was played at Morocco’s Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, where Al Ahly defeated Kaizer Chiefs 3-0.
Al Ahly has arrived in South Africa ahead of this weekend’s rematch against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Al Ahly is now second in CAF Champions League Group A with four points after narrowly defeating Al-Merrikh 3-2 last weekend. The Reds are three points behind Mamelodi Sundowns, who defeated them 1-0 and are unbeaten after three games this season.
Al Ahly has a strong team that has just arrived in South Africa, but three players are out with injuries with less than 48 hours to the start of the game.
