South Africa star Yusuf Maart ruled out of Bafana's World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana

Sekhukhune United star Yusuf Maart will miss South Africa’s crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana due to injury, Footballghana.com can report.

The Bafana Bafana who are keen to secure qualification to the final playoffs of the qualifiers will host the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Thursday, November 11, 2021 before they travel to the West African country to play Ghana in the final Group game at the Cape Coast stadium on Sunday.

Ahead of the much-anticipated games, coach Hugo Broos side has been hit with another injury blow.

Yusuf Maart who was named in the final 24-man squad for the crucial games will not be available for the Bafana Bafana due to injury.

The enterprising midfielder did feature in the doubleheader World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia in the last international break.

The 26-year-old has impressed in the Sekhukhune midfield this season after gaining promotion from the GladAfrica Championship.

However, Super Sports United’s Jesse Dean who was omitted from the final squad for the qualifiers has been recalled to replace Maart.

Sekhukhune United star becomes the third casualty as Kaizer Chiefs’ Sifiso Hlanti and Victor Letsoalo have all been ruled out with injuries.

Bafana Bafana currently top Group G with 10 points after four matches with Ghana a point behind.
