South Africa v Ghana: group G standings, Bafana Bafana go top
At the FNB Stadium, South Africa won a vital encounter against Ghana’s Black Stars in Group G match-day two of the World Cup qualifiers on Monday evening.
In the 83rd minute, Bongokuhle Hlongwane grabbed the needed points for South Africa with a cool finish after connecting a low cross from Victor Letsoalo.
South Africa go top in group G with four points, they drew 0-0 with Zimbabwe in their first game of the qualifier and secured all the points tonight.
Ghana is second with three points after two games, winning 1-0 against Ethiopia and losing 1-0 against South Africa.
Zimbabwe is third with one point after one game which was against Bafana Bafana.
Ethiopia is fourth with no point after a 1-0 defeat against Ghana. Ethiopia will play Zimbabwe in Addis Ababa in game two of the qualifiers on Tuesday.
